There
has been a problem with the previous management
of PyrateCon, involving mismanagement of money handling.
The previous management has not honored all of its
debts and it is estimated that thousands of dollars
are still owed to talent, hotel, restaurants, Save
the Manatee charities and persons that fronted
money for the convention. The IPS (International
Pirate Society) is no longer involved with this
convention in any way, and has been disassociated
with PyrateCon. We are sincerely sorry for these
problems, and will do our best to make things right.
If you have already purchased tickets to PyrateCon
elsewhere, we suggest that you request a refund
from the source from whom you first purchased them.
Yes, there is a code of conduct.
No drugs are allowed. No one under the influence
of illegal substances will be allowed on convention
grounds. This includes underage smokers and alcohol
abuse by anyone regardless of age. There will be
no smoking except in designated hotel areas or outside.
All attendees are completely
responsible for any and all damage they cause to
hotel or convention property. Violation of convention
rules will result in the loss of convention admission
and expulsion from the convention events and areas.
Atendees also agree to give PyrateCon permission
to use their picture(s) for promotional purposes.
PyrateCon also reserves the right
to refuse anyone entry or service at any time.
More regulations apply to merchants,
and this code of conduct may be updated at any time.
